Deffenbaugh letters, 1881, 1915.

Three letters written by George L. Deffenbaugh. The first letter is written to his brother from Lapwai, dated September 26, 1881. The other two letters are sent to Frances Whitman Monteith from La Mesa, California in 1915. In those two letters, he talks about people and places in Idaho. Deffenbaugh writes about the death of Kate McBeth and the churches at Lapwai, as well as other people that Monteith must have mentioned in her letters to him. In his letter, he says that he has not been to Lapwai for twenty-five years, so there is a lot of reminiscing about the time that he was there in the 1880s.
